Alien: Earth – Episode 7 Review

I know it is super late, but I am trying to finish up on my last two posts for Alien: Earth! Of course, because it’s been so long I need to brush up on what happened during the last two episodes, but it is what it is! Let’s get started!

I was upset that they used Arthur as the host for the Xenomorph, because deep down I was really hoping they were going to use Wendy’s brother. Arthur fit the role of a minor character who they could use to sacrifice, and unfortunately he was chosen instead. For Slightly to then wrap Smee up in his mess actually made me really upset, because Smee is the youngest (and who I think is the most naive), and should have never been placed in this situation to begin with.

All while this is going on, Wendy is trying to get a crew together to escape due. This doesn’t go perfectly to plan, with Smee and Slightly no where to be found, and Curley being a complete brat towards Wendy, so all she has is herself, her brother, and Nibs. Wendy also has her pet Xenomorph following them through the island’s terrain, a bit like an off the chains protector. As cool of an idea as I thought this was, because a Xenomorph following your group to use as the ultimate weapon against enemies would be cool, I also am fully away of how silly of a concept this is. I personally don’t think there is any way someone could control an alien life form so powerful unless you were higher on the food chain than it, but at the end of the day it’s all fictional and just for fun.

Now while this is happening, Kirsch and Kavalier are in the lab with my favorite sheep that is infected by Ocellus, and of course this is on the top of Kavalier’s priority now. He immediately gets obsessed over this new alien, and you can see the wheels start turning, which we can see the result of with Atom Eins and Joe during the next episode. It’s funny how quickly the Lost Boys were pushed aside for the Ocellus.

Smee and Slightly’s journey to the beach isn’t as smooth as Slightly expected it to be, which I feel like anyone could have called from the beginning of Slightly even being manipulated into doing this. First Arthur wakes up, which both boys are shocked and surprised. Immediately after his whole chest bursts, and escaping into the brush was a tiny baby Xenomorph. Instead of trying to find it, they bring Arthur’s corpse to the beach instead. Of course this doesn’t work out in their favor, and so they are captured by Morrow and his crew. This group is also caught by surprise by Kirsh and the island’s security team, so they are now captured.

Circling back to Wendy and her group, they make it to the docks so close to their escape and instead Kavalier’s security force stops them, which conveniently is also Joe’s group that he worked with. Wendy and Nibs are ready to defend themselves to leave the island, and instead Joe attacks Nibs to defend his company from getting hurt, which in my opinion shows his true colors. He’s been unhappy with his job, and finally found his sister who he thought was deceased and can finally work towards being free with her, but instead he turns his back on her. This results in this group now being captured as well.

I thought it was a good episode, and further reinforces the fat that I don’t like Boy Genius and corporations. Hopefully I will follow up with the final episode review shortly, but until then! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween!
