We still need to play catch up on the latest episodes of Alien: Earth (since we are two episodes behind), but I figured I am backlogged with my episode reviews so I will try and catch up on writing about what we have seen! This will probably be a shorter review because I feel like it’s been a little bit since I actually watched the episode, but onward!
I know I stated it in a previous post, but I really appreciate how much they are showing of the Xenomorph in this show. It cut back to right after Wendy jumped out of the window to rescue her brother, and once she finds the alien and her brother, Joe, there is a moment of stress when they try to lock it away and instead, Wendy gets stuck locked in with it. Joe, panicking and opening the door they just tried to use, and finds the Xenomorph and his hybrid sister both laying on the ground after a fight. The Xenomorph is dead, and she is damaged, with silver blood dripping.
While all of this is going on, Slightly is still where Wendy left him with the task of guarding the eggs. Smee finds him, and eventually so does Morrow. He has a clue that these two aren’t human, and that they aren’t adults, and with no answers he ends up placing something on Slightly after taking information from the ship’s computer system.
On the way back to Neverland, with the injured Wendy, the cut up Xenomorph, and the specimens, we find that Kavalier now has a whole room dedicated to the study of the specimens. He keeps on looking for the next big thing, seemingly annoyed initially with Kirsh who tells him any organics can’t be near the specimens due to safety. Kirsh eventually has some of the other hybrid children helping with research of these creatures, which is shown while Wendy awakes from recovering from surgery (and she later collapses behind them).
We are also shown that another member of the Lost Boys, Curly, seems to think she is the best, and even better than Wendy, and brings this up to Kavalier. He still says that Wendy is his favorite, but gives her some tasks after hearing her talk about her desire to learn and better herself. I am really wondering where this part of the plot will go, because I’m kind of wondering if she will eventually go up against Wendy due to being competitive for the “favorite spot”.
I still am not crazy about Morrow’s character, especially how he contacts Slightly with whatever it was that he placed on his person to manipulate him into giving him information, feeding off the fact that Slightly is young and naive. I feel like it’s because the actor is doing a great job at portraying a “bad” character, but I still don’t like him. He is sneaky all throughout the episode, and seems to go against Yutani when she asks him to come back in.
I can’t wait to actually catch up on the episodes! Thankfully I’m not too far behind, but it’s frustrating that I’m not caught up completely! Until next time!
